Hello! I am a native speaker of Italian and a qualified teacher of Classics and Latin. I hold a BA and MA in Classics from the University of Manchester, as well as a PGCE from the University of Cambridge. I have experience working in grammar schools, both in classroom teaching and private tutoring. Over the past 5 years, I have provided private tutoring for adults and children at all levels.

I teach Italian, Latin, Ancient Greek, and Classical Civilisation at all levels. Additionally, I teach IB Latin and Theory of Knowledge. My areas of expertise in Latin include the poetry of Catullus, Ovid, Virgil, Horace, and Propertius, as well as historiography by Livy, Suetonius, Cassius Dio, and Tacitus. My MA dissertation focused on Ovid's Heroides.

My teaching strategies have a strong focus on motivating students to challenge and expand their knowledge, while also helping them understand why language evolves in a certain way. Every word has a story behind it. Each lesson is tailored to the individual needs of the student. I will initially assess your level and provide the necessary resources to build knowledge and confidence. I am also available to create customised revision notes - simply ask for more details.
